Welcome to the Jackson County Georgia Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) Web Site. The Web Site is a work in progress as we seek to provide Jackson ARES with information needed to improve ARES® services to Supported Agencies within Jackson County.  All licensed Amateur  Radio operators are eligible to join ARES®, so please consider giving back to the community.

The next Jackson Co ARES meeting will be on June 16, 7 pm at the Jackson Co Fire Training Center. The program topic will be Emergency Communications. Successful completion of the training will meet communications requirements for deployment outside Jackson County.  All licensed hams are invited to attend.

The Jackson Co D-Star Repeater is up and running! Frequencies are 144.980 (+2.5) KJ4PXY C for VHF, 440.6375 (+5.0) KJ4PXY B for UHF, and 1298.7500 KJ4PXY A for 1.2 data. Internet is not up yet but should be by August 1, 2011.
